As a participant of Aligned Living, you have a range of rights which are useful to become familiar with.
Advocacy Right
You have the right to use and access an advocate (including an independent advocate) where allegations of violence, abuse, neglect, exploitation or discrimination have been made.
An advocate is someone who helps you express your views and wishes, and help you stand up for your rights.
The Australian Government, and some state and territory governments, fund independent advocacy to help people with disability who face complex challenges or are unable to advocate for themselves, and do not have family, friends or peers who can support them as informal advocates, to access advocacy support.
